The standard registration with new license plates for a private individual costs €270. If a card-format registration certificate is desired, an additional €31.10 applies.
All registration fees are uniform throughout Austria.
This is of course possible. If you have taken out your insurance with another company, you can still register anywhere; requirement: a valid insurance confirmation.
If you lose your registration certificate, we can issue you a free duplicate. However, if you lose your vehicle approval document (type approval certificate), it may be necessary (depending on the year of manufacture of the vehicle) to request a duplicate from the general importer. Normally, for vehicles from model year 2007 onwards, reprinting of the approval data is possible at the registration office.
Since October 2, 2017, changes in the registration register (address, name) are AUTOMATICALLY forwarded to the registration database. If the address is in the same administrative district and it is a private vehicle, notification of the address change at the registration office is therefore no longer necessary. If you still wish to have an amended registration certificate, you can pick it up free of charge at any registration office on the day following the change in the registration register.
In this case, please come to us with your registration certificate and current inspection report. We will issue you a new sticker – the cost is €2.30.
No; you can also send someone else to us – but a written power of attorney will be required.
Yes. Deregistration of a vehicle is possible throughout Austria (license plate can then NOT be reserved). All other processes, however, such as deposit, address change, inclusion in the transfer plate, are only possible in the respective registration district.
In this case, your current number will be blocked, as it will be listed for search from the time of notification.
You will therefore be assigned new license plates with us.
For the assignment we require:
- Type approval certificate
- Registration certificate
- If applicable, remaining second plate
- If applicable, red bicycle trailer plate
All registration fees are to be paid directly with us at the registration office. Payment options: cash, debit card, and credit card.
No. License plates are issued strictly in sequence and therefore cannot be freely chosen or reserved in advance.
An insurance confirmation must be presented for the following transactions:
- Registration of a vehicle
- Exclusion from the transfer plate to a separate license plate
If you want to change your name on the registration certificate, e.g., after a wedding, you can do this without an appointment with us. You will need:
- Driver’s license
- Marriage certificate
- Type approval certificate
- Registration certificate
